A visual representation of the sequence of steps a user would take to accomplish a goal on a website.

Storyboarding is a film industry technique that helps website planners and owners visualise how users will navigate a planned website. It represents the flow of a site from the user's point of view.

A storyboard can be a paper prototype consisting of wireframes that represent the content of web pages.

Other storyboarding media are HTML prototypes, multimedia presentations, PowerPoint and interaction comics.

Comics are becoming a popular method of storyboarding because they’re quick and easy to understand and can depict user emotions and context of use, as well as user actions and system responses.

Storyboards are usually produced towards the end of website planning to present the final logical design before starting visual design. Storyboards can also be used to confirm concepts earlier in the project.
